Senior Sisig Saturday

Off the Grid is a gathering of food trucks that are stationed in Alameda's South Shore Center, every Saturday from 11 AM - 3PM. One of my favorite food trucks participate, SENIOR SISIG. Senior Sisig is Filipino-inspired street food that started out here in San Francisco. Starting out as a food truck service, they now have a restaurant located in the Mission district. You can find where their trucks are going to be located on their website.

Sisig is made from parts of pig head and chicken liver, usually seasoned with calamansi, onions and chili peppers. It originates from the Philippines.

Even though there are a few other trucks around, Senior Sisig always has the longest line, but they are pretty fast. Waiting time was about 7 minutes. My brother, cousins, and I all met up to grab some lunch. Not only do they sell burritos and fries, they have adobo style taocs We all got Sisig fries and I got Miguel a Sisig burrito. The fries are topped with sisig, pico de gallo, guac, jalapenos, and sour cream.

It was a great afternoon to meet up with my cousins since we haven't been able to hang out much due to COVID.
